Flexible operating impacts on combined cycle power plant performance and reliability
As part of a two-year study conducted by Black & Veatch on behalf of the Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI), researchers are studying the impacts of cycling and low-load generation on performance, heat rate, reliability, and availability at combined cycle power plants.
Some of the most intriguing findings from this study will be shared for the first time during this presentation. It will offer real-world examples of increased cycling impacts on combined-cycle power plants, heat rate losses due to suboptimal performance, prediction of the most likely equipment to fail, and changes that can be made to counter these challenges.
