Nuclear's Small Revolution

New advanced nuclear systems are designed to operate conditions that are routinely seen in the conventional steam power industry but that are atypical for nuclear designers, operators and regulators familiar with conventional nuclear power plants.

Advanced fuels, new heat transfer fluids and containment strategies all may ease many of the risks that have driven design and operating decisions on conventional nuclear units.

This session will take a close look at high temperature gas-cooled reactor technology and how it could solve some of the risks of past designs and provide opportunities for improved operations, efficiency, code application and economy.
