Exploring Trends in Hydropower

With over 90,000 non-powered dams (NPDs) in the U.S., there is significant potential for adding renewable energy to the grid. Mesa Associates, Inc., has acquired NuSTREEM's low-head modular turbine technology and is enhancing it for higher-head applications.

By leveraging advanced manufacturing methods, such as additive manufacturing and composite materials, Mesa aims to reduce costs, increase reliability, and extend turbine lifespan. This presentation highlights innovations in turbine design and manufacturing that could revolutionize hydropower production in the U.S.
