Platform to Evaluate DER and Microgrid Controls for Successful Field Deployment

This presentation will explore strategies to de-risk the field deployment of new technologies by utilizing advanced simulation and experimentation tools at the National Labs. Attendees will gain insights into the use of controller hardware-in-the-loop and power hardware-in-the-loop testing to evaluate grid-forming fuel cell inverter controls and microgrid operations. The session will showcase results from microgrid experiments, focusing on the different modes of operation recommended by IEEE 2030.7 and 2030.8, helping to ensure reliable integration of diverse assets and enhance grid resilience.
