On-Site Power: One Concept, Many Applications

From a fuel cell microgrid powering a hyperscaler’s operations in the Northwest, to combustion turbines serving gigawatt-scale data centers in ERCOT and PJM, this session will highlight real-world onsite generation projects that are already reshaping the grid. Driven by surging demand, resiliency needs, and sustainability targets, end-users across sectors are turning to distributed power solutions that rival the scale and complexity of central stations.

Through these case studies, presenters will examine the drivers, success criteria and technology choices behind today’s most ambitious onsite generation efforts. Attendees will gain insights into permitting, interconnection, contracting and system configuration strategies that determine project viability. The discussion will equip IPPs and self-generators alike with a framework to evaluate opportunities in this rapidly expanding market.
