Reliable Retrofit Upgrades for the U.S. Gas Turbine Fleet
Natural gas turbines generate more than 40% of U.S. electricity, yet much of the installed fleet is aging and faces increasing pressure from load growth, renewable integration and market volatility. With new-build capacity slowed by supply chain constraints, costs and long lead times, retrofittable upgrades have become a practical path to add capacity and expand operational flexibility.
This session will present case studies from utility customer sites where retrofit packages, including F-class performance optimization, advanced combustion systems and digital controls, have been deployed to improve output, extend component life and enable wider operating profiles. Presenters will also review enabling technologies such as additive manufacturing, advanced alloys and digital tuning platforms that support these solutions.
