Energy Storage The electric power sector is deploying a variety of energy storage options that range in terms of duration and technology. Lithium-ion battery technology dominates much of the discussion about short-duration storage. However, long-duration or multi-day storage that use technologies like such as compressed air energy systems, pumped hydro and a host of novel battery chemistries also are also being developed and deployed.
