Ahad Esmaeilian, PhD, MBA, is the Power & Utilities Sector Leader for the United States at GHD, where he leads strategy and growth across generation, transmission, distribution, and emerging large-load segments including data centers. He has more than 20 years of experience in power systems, with deep expertise in grid modernization, energy storage, and integrating new generation and large loads into constrained networks. Prior to joining GHD, Ahad held senior leadership roles at utilities and engineering firms, including Avangrid, the New York Power Authority, and Audubon Companies, where he led initiatives in transmission planning, BESS, clean energy development, and infrastructure delivery. He holds a PhD in Power Systems and an MBA, and focuses on helping clients navigate complex planning, interconnection, and execution challenges in rapidly evolving power markets.
