Alex Bridges

Senior Team Leader – Materials , EPRI

Dr. Alex Bridges is a Senior Team Leader at the Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI), where he oversees strategic research initiatives and manages a high-temperature mechanical testing laboratory supporting 15–20 projects annually. With a Ph.D. in Materials Science from North Carolina State University and a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from UNC Charlotte, Alex has led efforts in advancing additive manufacturing for industrial gas turbines, developing innovative testing methodologies, and guiding multidisciplinary teams toward solutions for power generation challenges. Since joining EPRI in 2015, he has authored over 60 technical publications and currently directs programs focused on gas turbine materials, rotor life extension, and large-scale mechanical testing techniques.
