Amanda Farnsworth

Energy Transformation Consultant, Siemens Energy

Amanda Farnsworth, PhD is an Energy Systems Transformation Consultant at Siemens Energy, where she supports utilities, regulators, developers, and investors in assessing the operational, market, and financial impacts of evolving power system conditions. Her work focuses on advanced power system modeling, wholesale electricity markets, and grid modernization challenges driven by large load growth, decarbonization, and emerging technologies. She leads and contributes to system-wide analyses of security-constrained dispatch, transmission utilization, congestion, and locational marginal prices under future grid scenarios, including nodal SCED studies evaluating hyperscale data center interconnections using temperature-driven load profiles and forward-looking system assumptions. Previously, she was a Senior Energy Analyst at PowerIntel, where she developed stochastic capacity expansion and production cost models across ERCOT, MISO, and SPP to analyze resource adequacy and market dynamics under uncertainty. Dr. Farnsworth earned her PhD from MIT, where her research focused on power sector decarbonization, renewable variability, electric vehicles, and emerging technologies. She brings a rigorous, data-driven approach to translating complex modeling results into actionable insights.
