William Kennedy

Director of Development – Industrial Water, Stantec

Bill Kennedy is Stantec’s Industrial Water Practice Leader for North America.  Bill has more than 36 years of experience with a strong background in chemical process engineering in the chemical, polymers, and electric power industries. His experience includes design, operations, training, team development, consulting, and program management. He has a passion for the piloting, development and application of emerging technologies, inorganic chemistry, and trace constituent removal from industrial wastewaters.  Bill holds a BS in Chemical Engineering from Virginia Tech and is registered as a professional engineer in several Mid-Atlantic States.

Bill has been involved in methods development for FGD and high TDS wastewater analysis of low-level metals and data collection and commenting efforts in support of EPA’s ongoing update to the Steam Electric Power Generating Effluent Guidelines.

Bill has been integrally involved in the application of biological treatment systems, regulatory strategy, analytical methods development, and operations of fossil-fired power plant wastewater treatment. He has authored and presented numerous papers and is actively engaged in advancing treatment technologies and training of engineers.
