Chris Graves
Dr. Chris Graves is a pioneer in the field of electrochemical energy storage, dedicated to bridging the multi-day storage gap required for a 100% renewable grid. As the Co-Founder and CEO of Noon Energy, Chris leads the development of a breakthrough carbon-oxygen battery technology that has the potential to provide 100+ hours of storage at $20 per kilowatt-hour, a fraction of the cost of lithium-ion. Inspired by his work on NASA’s MOXIE Mars project, which converted Martian CO2 into oxygen, Chris applied these principles to invent a system that stores energy by splitting CO2 into a carbon-based storage medium and oxygen. Prior to founding Noon Energy in 2018 through the Cyclotron Road fellowship at Lawrence Berkeley National Lab, Chris served as professor at the Technical University of Denmark and a visiting scholar at Stanford University. He holds a Ph.D. with distinction from Columbia University, where his research focused on high-temperature electrolysis for carbon utilization.
