VP, Project Development and Technical Services, International CCS Knowledge Centre

Since 2021, Conway Nelson has led a team of engineers at the International CCS Knowledge Centre (Knowledge Centre) that work on reducing technical and commercial risk associated with Carbon Capture projects across all industrial sectors. A key focus for Conway is an emphasis on ensuring that the Owner’s interest is served as his team supports the development of CCS projects. Prior to joining the Knowledge Centre, Conway worked at SaskPower where his career spanned over two decades, working as an engineer and project manager supporting sustainment capital projects for the entire power generation fleet. Conway has an in-depth knowledge of hydro, coal and natural gas fired generation facilities. In addition, he spent two years researching small modular reactor technology. For 13 years, Conway held a leadership role at SaskPower, overseeing large teams of engineers and project managers responsible for executing the portfolio of new-build and sustainment projects for the generation fleet. Along with his depth of engineering expertise, Conway brings a formidable strength in leadership, management, and communication. Conway focuses on fostering strong relationships across various industries, knowledge sharing and providing exceptional value to customers. Conway has a B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Saskatchewan and his Project Management Professional designation from the Project Management Institute.
