
Dana Pierik
Ms. Pierik is a highly experienced professional with over 20 years in engineering, flight control, and project management. Since joining Sargent & Lundy in 2013, she has become a key leader in the development and integration of advanced environmental control systems. With an additional 10 years of engineering and management experience at NASA, she brings a unique blend of technical expertise and strategic oversight to her projects.
Ms. Pierik specializes in environmental control system retrofits and Front-End Engineering Design (FEED) studies, focusing on a wide range of technologies including Flue Gas Desulfurization (FGD), Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR), Selective Non-Catalytic Reduction (SNCR), and Carbon Capture, Utilization, and Storage (CCUS). She has successfully managed and overseen the integration of CCUS technologies into power plants, cement plants, and steam-assisted gravity drainage plants across North America.
Her role extends to managing multidisciplinary teams, aligning client needs with technology providers, equipment vendors, and internal teams. Ms. Pierik is also involved in process development and the integration of balance of plant designs for multiple CCUS technologies.
To date, Ms. Pierik has served as the project manager for 11 CCUS projects, ranging from feasibility and FEED studies to detailed design and construction, including the MTR Large Pilot. Her extensive experience, leadership, and technical insight make her a sought-after expert in the field of environmental engineering and CCUS project management.
