Danny Johnson is the Market Design Sector Manager for the California ISO, which he joined in 2012. In this role he is responsible for providing oversight on market design and regulatory policy changes that enhance market efficiency and reliability of the California ISO and Western Energy Imbalance Markets (WEIM).  This work includes the expansion of regional markets within the western US, enhancements to the price formation of the CAISO and WEIM markets, integration of storage resources and the creation and implementation of flexible capacity market products.  Prior to the CAISO he served for four years as a staff electrical engineer at the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission within the office of electric reliability.  

Danny holds a master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from the Kansas State University and a bachelor’s degree in biomedical engineering from the George Washington University.  Danny is a licensed professional engineer in the state of California.
