Principal Tech Lead, Pacific Gas and Electric Company

With over 15 years of experience in power system engineering, Mr. Hong Chun currently serve as Principal Tech Lead at Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E), where he leads Integrated Grid Planning (IGP) across Transmission, Distribution, and Substation systems. His work focuses on developing and prioritizing multi-year capital investment strategies that address grid capacity, asset health, wildfire mitigation, DER integration, and electrification needs. His expertise spans power system simulation and modeling, PV and EV hosting capacity analysis, big data analytics, asset management, SCADA/ADMS integration, and product development. He brings a strong foundation in technical leadership, team building, budgeting, and financial oversight—while emphasizing mentorship, cross-functional collaboration, and continuous improvement.
