Jeff Joyce
With 25 years in the energy sector, I currently serve as Director of Engineering – Project Management & Construction at Duke Energy Corporation. In this role, I lead engineering in support of Duke Energy’s new power generation build program, currently focused on solar, battery, and gas (CC & CT) projects.
Prior to my current position, I was General Manager of Engineering Services for Duke Energy’s non-nuclear fleet, managing generation subject matter experts and project support personnel, spanning all Duke’s territories (Carolinas, Midwest, and Florida). My earlier leadership roles include Station Manager at Cliffside and Operations and Technical manager at Belews Creek.
I began my career at Duke as a Project Engineer, managing all phases of large-scale capital projects, from development and permitting through construction and commissioning, mostly traditional steam plant retrofits and new gas generation.
I’m a proud graduate of North Carolina State University, earning a bachelor’s in chemical engineering. Prior to joining Duke, I spent 5 years as a process engineer with ExxonMobil in their downstream headquarters and the Torrance, CA refinery.
Proud father, husband, youth sports coach, and avid canoeist & angler.
