John Portillo began his nuclear journey in 1997 with Nuclear Logistics, Inc in Fort Worth, TX. In February 2020, Paragon Energy Solutions acquired the legacy NLI business unit. Throughout his 
26 year career, he has held various sales and management positions within the organization
and succeeding ownership companies. His focus has been as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for 
the company’s electrical, mechanical, and I&C product offerings in support of the domestic and 
international nuclear facilities.

In his current role of Vice President Sales Operations, he is responsible for the inside sales 
engineering group and support for the Advanced Reactor, International and DOE/DOD business 
development.

John received his Bachelor of Science in Industrial Distribution from Texas A&M University in 
1993, where he was an active member in the Corps of Cadets. In May of 2020, he received his 
Master of Engineering Technical Management from Texas A&M University with an emphasis on 
Leadership and Data Driven Decision Making.
