Kelyn Wood
Kelyn Wood is an engineer in the Bulk Energy Storage program at EPRI in Palo Alto, California. His areas of expertise are in modeling the performance and economics of energy storage technologies. Prior to joining EPRI, he worked on designing a heat pump energy storage system for NREL, modeling thermoclines in hot water tanks for Harvest Thermal, and modeling temperature profiles of passively cooled battery systems for Lunar Energy. Much of his current work includes reporting on emerging energy storage technologies, as well as assessing the performance, economics, and life cycle greenhouse gas impacts of utility-scale energy storage projects. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering degree from Stanford University with a specialization in Thermodynamics, a Bachelor of Science in Energy Resources Engineering degree from Stanford University with a specialization in Renewable Energy, and a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering degree from Stanford University with a specialization in Energy Systems.
