Mr. Kevin Peng is the Director of Power Capital Projects and External Generation at the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power (LADWP). He oversees LADWP’s generation and transmission infrastructure projects, as well as its external generation portfolio, which includes the Intermountain Power Project (IPP), Apex, Palo Verde, and Hoover resources—supplying up to 2 GW of energy to LADWP customers.

In his previous role as Program Manager for IPP, Kevin led execution and oversight teams in developing and constructing a portfolio of new generation, transmission, and hydrogen energy storage projects in Utah for the Intermountain Power Agency (IPA), known as IPP Renewed.

He began his career at LADWP in the Major Projects group as a Field Mechanical Engineer for the Haynes 5 & 6 and Scattergood 3 & 4 Repowering Projects—two of LADWP’s largest infrastructure undertakings of the past decade.

Kevin holds an MBA from the University of Southern California and M.S. and B.S. degrees in Mechanical Engineering from the University of California, San Diego.
