Noah Ryder

Noah Ryder is Chief Operating Officer and Principal Fire Protection Engineer at Fire & Risk Alliance, LLC, a fire protection and risk engineering consulting firm, with 25 years of experience across the field. He holds a BS and MS in Fire Safety Engineering and a PhD in Mechanical and Mechatronics Engineering. He serves on the NFPA 855 Technical Committee, where he chairs numerous task groups, including those on large-scale fire testing, explosions, and building applications. His work spans battery energy storage system (BESS) fire safety, computational fluid dynamics and dispersion modeling, deflagration venting, large-scale fire testing, and risk engineering across the industrial, data center, nuclear, and energy storage sectors. He teaches at the University of Maryland and the University of Waterloo. He also serves on the Board of Visitors for the Department of Fire Protection Engineering at the University of Maryland, where he supports program development and industry partnerships.
