Rodney Gay
Dr. Gay founded the engineering software company (Enter Software, Inc.) that developed applications for the design (GateCycle), performance monitoring (EfficiencyMap) and economic optimization (PlantPayback) of electric power plants. These software tools have been used by thousands of engineers to perform performance predictions of hundreds of different types of power production concepts and cycles.
General Electric Power Systems purchased Enter Software in 1999, and Dr. Gay became president of the GE owned business. The software programs developed by Dr. Gay were adopted as GE core technology for power plant design, performance monitoring and economic optimization. EfficiencyMap has been installed throughout the GE fleet of gas turbines.
Dr. Gay’s book, “Power Plant Performance Monitoring”, was published in 2004, and is now the reference book used by power plant engineers worldwide.
Dr. Gay is currently president of MapEx Software, Inc. MapEx performance monitoring solutions extend technology developed by GE by incorporating advanced methods for heat-balance based data-reconciliation, and integrating advanced pattern recognition and diagnostics with thermal analysis to produce the most accurate performance monitoring system available.
