Senior Engineer for Wind Assets , Puget Sound Energy

Ryan Severe is a Senior Plant Engineer for Puget Sound Energy in Washington State where he has worked for eighteen years. There, he oversees the PSE's 384 wind turbines over three separate facilities along with the associated substations and SCADA Monitoring Systems. Ryan and his work at Puget Sound Energy has earned the award for the 2025 Green Cross Safety in Innovation for his pioneering work with the SYTIS TC-90™ Bi-spectral Card Camera. He is dedicated to finding innovative ways to improve safety while lowering the cost of O&M and sharing his experience and insights with the wider wind energy sector across the globe.

There's been a lot of good [takeaways] for us because our plans are quite old, so there's a lot of manual readings and things, but me being the IT generation, I think it could be done better.
